Winter has not arrived in Stockholm, but I read that it has started to snow in Northern Sweden. To prepare for winter (though a bit too early), this photo can be a warm-up. I find this picture in my archive, the photo is totally out of focus, but this is what I find it interesting. It is still clear that the house was built on rocks. It is amazing how it stands on those little rocks. You can find this house in Sweden's National Park Tyresta.

A building near Haga Park in Stockholm
Oh it has been raining a lot in Stockholm recently, sometimes i do miss sunshine even though i love raining. Anyway, I took this picture a few months ago. This building is located near Hagapark where Crown Princess of Sweden, Victoria lives with her family, it is a very beautiful park in all seasons. You can say that this building is nothing special, but i just like the visual chemistry between the building and cloudy blue sky.

Gamla Stan with Kahti and her friends
My flatmate Kahti has left Sweden for good, going back to her home country Germany to pursue her study. Last week it was her last week living here, we went to explore Stockholm with her friends. Yes we went to Gamla Stan ( Old Town ) in Stockholm, it seems that it is the first and last place people would visit in Stockholm. Why not? It is a very beautiful place with very old buildings and narrow alley all around. Plus there are a lot of nice cafe. Last time we went to a cafe where used to be a stable, how nice. I wish all the best to Kahti in Germany. These pictures were taken in Gamla Stan.

Desginer Chairs in Stockholm Kulturhuset
Checking Dezeen magazine, it comes a yellow-nest-inspired-interior cafe in Singapore, which is designed by Outofstock. Then I check it out Outofstock's website, they design unique-designed furniture. The reason I upload this post is not that I am a huge fan of the cafe's interior although I like yellow. It is because I was attracted to those yellow chairs which I have seen plenty of them ( but they are green instead of yellow ) in Stockholm's Kulturhuset recently. Kulturhuset is located at the centre of Stockholm. It is not a cafe, but a public social area where you can see a lot of different culture-inspired things going on inside the building, you can just sit there and enjoy views of busy streets of Stockholm. I have sat on those chairs, they are cool and comfy. So if you are in Stockholm, and wanna enjoy some designers' chairs, it is a good place to go. PS, they also have Finnish Designer Eero Aarnio's bubble chair.

Artipelag in Sweden Part 1
Yesterday we went to Artipelag which is latest addition of art gallery to Sweden. However, this art gallery is more than just a gallery. The architecture is phenomenon. It is designed by Johan Nyrén. Most of my time over there is looking every detail the building offers. The architecture is covered by vertical dark brown wood and horizontal white wood. The width of the woods are not very thin. The building is incorporated with the landscape there, you can find a huge piece of rock extending from the ground in the restaurant, seamlessly connecting the nature and building together. Moreover, the architect play with the roof of the building, transforming it into green observation deck for the audience, the roof is covered with small plants. At the beginning, we hesitated to step on it but were told that we could. The greatest thing is that it is easy to find spots to talk with friends, very peaceful. To me, it is not only a gallery but also a social area though it is a bit far away. I am sure I will go there again and again. If you happen to be in Stockholm, please go to Artipelag.

White-Tile Kitchen in Sweden
I saw this black and white kitchen in Emma's Blog (Sweden's well known professional blogger). This kitchen in Stockholm is tiny and compact. The wall is covered with classic white tiles from floor to ceiling, plus black kitchen cabinet. I always see this style in Stockholm, in cafe, restaurants and even at home. Before I moved to Stockholm, I thought the white tiles could only be confined to bathroom interior. Obviously, I was wrong, with good and disciplined styling, white square tiles can be very unpredictably stylish everywhere (Opps maybe not in bedroom or living room, of course if you have pictures with bedroom or bathroom decorated with white square tiles, please share with me and prove me wrong :).
